4-H shooters receive awards

Hot Springs County's 4-H shooters gathered on Saturday for a banquet which included their award presentations for the year.

Receiving Shooting Sports Pins were: (Juniors) Cody Bomengen, Sharon Burgess, Sophie Conrad, Seth Dickey, Jaxson Flinn, Summer Galovich, Hayden Johnson, Talyah Myers, Bridger Peil and Rosalie Willson. (Intermediates) Lance Axtell, Dawn Burgess, Patrick Chapel, Will Clark, Brailee DeVries, Luke Dickey, Kaia Galovich, Chase Herring, Hadley Johnson, Jeffrey Lewis, Eli McCumber, Owen McCumber, Porter McCumber, Carson Medvigy, Tanner Medvigy, Ethan Music, Matt Music, Jonah Needham, Seth Needham, Hayden Overfield, Lexi Overfield, Carson Williams and Jean-Luc Willson. (Seniors) Audrey Axtell, Spencer Axtell, Hunter Bartholomew, Michelle Burgess, Jeffry Clark, Mya Conrad, Eli Dickey, Remington Ferree, Destiny Harris, Hardy Johnson, Barbara Kissel, John Maier, Cody Mayfield, Maddie Stam and Anthony Sword.

In archery, Sharon Burgess, Talyah Myers and Seth Needham all received perfect attendance awards, having attended 17 shooting times.

In Junior Archery, Class D, Blue Face-High Individual went to Hayden Johnson while 3D-High Individual went to Hayden Overfield. Class B saw Tanner Medvigy taking home Blue Face-High Individual and Talyah Myers receiving 3D-High Individual.

The overall High Individual archery scores were Hayden Overfield, 1st, Hayden Johnson, 2nd and Bridger Peil, 3rd.

In Intermediate Archery, Class B, Blue Face-High Individual went to Owen McCumber and 3D-High Individual also went to Owen McCumber.

Intermediate Archery, Class D, Blue Face-High Individual went to Anthony Sword while 3D-High Individual went to Maddie Stam.

Overall High Individual archery scores went to Anthony Sword, 1st, Owen McCumber, 2nd and Will Clark, 3rd.

For Senior Archery, Class D, Blue Face-High Individual was awarded to Jeffry Clark with Barb Kissell taking home the 3D-High Individual.

Senior archer overall high scorers were Jeffry Clark, 1st, John Maier, 2nd and Barbara Kissel, 3rd.

Overall Archery awards are given to members who participate in all 4-H events and include scores from practice, 3D, Blue Face, camps, State Shoot and County Fair shoot. All ages participate in the overall awards.

Overall Archer was awarded to Hayden Overfield, 1st, Jeffry Clark, 2nd, Hayden Johnson, 3rd, John Maier, 4th and Anthony Sword, 5th.

Perfect attendance awards for Muzzleloaders went to Hayden Johnson, Carson Medvigy, Will Clark, Destiny Harris, Jeffry Clark, Kaia Galovich, Luke Dickey and Eli Dickey.

Safety awards: (Junior) Hayden Overfield, (Intermediate) Lexi Overfield, Will Clark and Hadley Johnson, (Senior) Jeffry Clark.

Most Improved: (Junior) Luke Dickey, (Intermediate) Eli Dickey.

Top Shooter Awards: (Junior) Kaia Galovich and Hayden Johnson, (Intermediate) Hardy Johnson and Destiny Harris, (Senior) Jeffry Clark.

A perfect attendance award for rifle was given to Tanner Medvigy and Seth Needham received perfect attendance for pistol.

Attitude awards were given to Dawn Burgess and Sharon Burgess for rifle and Kaia Galovich for pistol.

A leadership award for rifle was awarded to Eli Dickey while Carson Medvigy took one home in pistol.

Most Improved went to Jaxon Flinn for rifle and Seth Needham for pistol.

High Score awards were Carson Williams in rifle and Jason Clouse in pistol.

The Camp Survey award went to Seth Needham.

In Shotgun, Trapper Awards are based on practice attendance, positive attitude, willingness to help out loading targets, scoring, picking up hulls and hauling equipment. Those went to Lance Axtell, Eli Dickey, Owen McCumber, Carson Medvigy, Johnna Needham, Seth Needham and Lexi Overfield.

Holie Hat Club: Jeffry Clark and Hunter Bartholomew.

Top Shot Awards: Team High Overall (Junior) Hayden Overfield, 20/100, (Intermediate) Matt Music, 72/100, (Senior) Remington Ferree, 88/100.

NRA Whittington Camp award: Carson Medvigy and Carson Williams.

4-H Shooting Sports Leaders include Bob Aguiar, Gene Boehmke, Lawrence Burgess, Jeff Clark, Buck Clouse, Charlie Ferree, Kari Ferree, Carri Harris, Colter McCumber, Doug Nichols, Heath Overfield, Bill Parker, Bob Rollings and Bob Uffleman.
