On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thursday, Nov. 2

9:11 a.m. Report of a vehicle striking a gas meter. Everything was OK and the meter was secured.

1:54 p.m. A case containing cell phone charging and cleaning equipment was found on Airport Hill Road.

Saturday, Nov. 4

3:03 p.m. Call received from Washakie County Sheriff’s Office about a vehicle that was all over the road. A Hot Springs County deputy stopped the vehicle and Joseph B. Watkins was arrested for alleged driving under the influence.

Sunday, Nov. 5

6:29 p.m. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on Highway 120, in which the driver appeared to be asleep. The driver was contacted and found to be OK.

Police department

Tuesday, Oct. 31

8:16 a.m. Complaint of gravel on the road from the light to Hospital Hill. The gravel came from WYDOT trucks doing road work.

9:06 p.m. Report of plastic debris on the road near the railroad bridge at Senior Avenue and Park. It was later found to be from an air conditioning unit on top of an RV that struck the bridge.

11:36 p.m. Deanna Morgan was arrested for alleged interfering with an officer and breach of peace.

Wednesday, Nov. 1

9:52 a.m. A found wallet was mailed to the Evanston Police Department, which will get it back to the owner.

11:51 p.m. REDDI report of a truck swerving all over the road. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Thursday, Nov. 2

12:25 p.m. Reporting party believed a neighbor’s dog was in distress because it was shaking. The dog had shelter, food and water, but the owner said it shakes because it has nerve damage.

Friday, Nov. 3

3:59 p.m. Complainant called regarding theft of money and other items. The matter is under investigation.

Saturday, Nov. 4

9:06 p.m. Report of a vehicle parked in a business lot for several days. The vehicle did not look damaged and a warning about overnight parking was placed on the windshield.

Sunday, Nov. 5

1:40 a.m. Officer was called to a male and female subject fighting. The fight was verbal and the couple was separated for the night.

Monday, Nov. 6

12:13 a.m. Sean P. Stehlin was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance.

5:12 p.m. Report of a female subject and two juveniles walking and crying. An officer took the subjects to the Law Enforcement Center and arrangements were later made so they had a place to stay for the night.

7:41 p.m. Report of a vehicle parked on the street for several days. Though the vehicle is not running, the owner was advised to move it.

10:35 p.m. Following a traffic stop, Brandin Rossiter was arrested on an Albany County warrant.

Circuit court

Tiphanie Reynolds was bound over to District Court on a charge of child endangerment where meth is stored, ingested or possessed.

Jared Dumas was bound over to District Court on charges of applying pressure to the throat or neck and second-offense domestic battery.

Kristopher Jacobs was found guilty of defrauding an innkeeper and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $255. Restitution is $51.

Births

Willow Ember Bult was born Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Chantzy and Devin Bult of Wyoming.

She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 21 inches long.

Grandparents are Seely and Rex Daniels of Wyoming and Kerstin and Bob Bult of Wyoming.

Owen Don Diede was born Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Desiree Short and David Diede of Wyoming.

He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 20.5 inched long.

Grandparents are Rob Short and Deb Short Les Diede and Michelle Diede, all of Wyoming.
