Awards presented at 4-H Achievement Night

Saturday night at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds, the local 4-H held its annual awards night. Following a dinner for members and families, awards were presented for various 4-H projects, along with special awards.

Doug Nichols was honored as the Volunteer Leader of the Year, and Dick Staiger was named this year's Friend of 4-H.

Verne Lofink also received special recognition for his many years of service to the 4-H as an auctioneer. Lofink expressed his appreciation for the recognition, as well as his pride in our local program. He also encouraged 4-H veterans to get and keep youth excited in 4-H.
