Rec girls basketball set to begin

Girls basketball through the Hot Springs County Recreation District kicks off next week with the first practices starting on Monday.

Kindergarteners through second graders will be in one group, practicing on Mondays and Thursdays at Ralph Witters Elementary (RWE) gym at 6 p.m. There are about 17 girls in this age group who will be learning the ropes.

Third and fourth graders will make up another set of teams. They will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the RWE gym between 6- 8 p.m. and their games will be on Mondays at the middle school at 6:15 p.m.

The bigger girls, fifth and sixth graders, will have their games on Mondays at the middle school as well, with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at either RWE or the armory. There are enough fifth and sixth graders to field two teams this year.
