Elbert Berger

Elbert Berger, 83, formerly of Shoshoni, Wyo., passed away in Gulfport, Miss., on Sept. 5, 2017, after a yearlong, hard-fought battle with esophageal cancer.

Born in Thermopolis, Wyo., on April 5, 1934, to Dorothea & Ernest Berger, he grew up in Wyoming & Germany, proudly served 23 years in the US Air Force, retired in the Denver area, and then moved to the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Mississippi. Fun-loving, friendly and generous, Elbert loved nature, volksmarching, dancing, driving and dogs. 

He is survived by brother, Klaus; daughters, Doris and Laura; and grandkids Lea, Kaela, and Nick. 

Please join us for an Oktoberfest Celebration of Life on Oct., 15 at 3 p.m. at Bender's Brat House, 700 S Buckley Rd, Aurora. Interment of Ashes will be Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. at Lake View Cemetery, Shoshoni. Contributions may be made to CrazyHorseMemorial.org (605) 673-4681
