Kathleen 'Kathy' Barton

Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Barton, 72, passed away July 23, 2017, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness Center after a series of strokes in the past five years.

Born January 5, 1946, in Decatur, Ill., she was the oldest of six children of Glen and Mildred (Porter) Evans. Kathy graduated from high school in Edgemont, S. D. In 1969 she married LeRoy Barton in Illinois.

During her working career she was a bank teller and established her own business, K.B. Bookkeeping. After moving to Thermopolis in the 1990s from Green River, Wyo., she worked as a prep cook for Lil’ Wrangler.

Kathy enjoyed watching movies, letting her granddaughter do her eyebrows, loved going to church, reading the bible and feeding her horses.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred, of Colorado Springs; son, Johnny Lee Barton of Thermopolis; brother, Dale Evans; sisters, Darlene, Audrey, Echo and Lori; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010; and her father, Glen.
