On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, June 13

11:40 a.m. Welfare check was requested for a subject, who was found to be OK.

Wednesday, June 14

2:07 p.m. A subject in question was part of a raft trip, and was dumped out of the boat. The subject was later found on shore, and stated it was easier to swim to shore rather than back to the raft.

Thursday, June 15

10:12 a.m. Complainant reported juveniles were riding ATVs too close to a house and dogs. Responding deputy did not see any driving violations, but spoke to the juveniles about the matter.

3:26 p.m. Report of fraudulent call, accusing a subject of having a warrant out for his arrest. No information or money was exchanged.

8:39 p.m. Caller reported a suspicious subject parked in the state park. The subject had not done anything, but the caller stated his presence there was unnerving. A suspect vehicle could not be located.

8:40 p.m. Report of cows on the highway, though the animals were off the road when the officer arrived.

Saturday, June 17

9:55 p.m. Report of possible shoplifting.

11:21 p.m. Possible probation violation. The matter was forwarded to the county attorney’s office.

Sunday, June 18

12 p.m. Report of a deer lying in the ditch along the highway. Responding deputy put the animal down.

9:02 p.m. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle on the highway. The vehicle could not be located.

Monday, July 19

2:49 p.m. Dispute between property owners regarding fencing.

Tuesday, June 13

7:33 a.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle on private property. The vehicle was tagged as such.

10:36 a.m. Dispute between parents over custody of children. There are no court documents in favor of one parent or the other.

Wednesday, June 14

1:27 p.m. Juveniles playing in the river water were advised not to do so by an officer, due to the high flow.

8:52 p.m. Report of a newborn fawn laying in an intersection. The responding officer tried to approach the animal, which jumped up and ran off.

Thursday, June 15

1:25 a.m. A suspicious van was located near a business. Occupants stated they were travelling through and stopped to rest because they were tired. They were asked to move along.

3:43 p.m. Report of a window broken out of a home. There was nothing missing.

6:26 p.m. Complainant reported smelling acetone. Responding officer didn’t smell anything, but told the subject to call back if he smelled it again.

8:09 p.m. An officer was investigating a matter, when a vehicle drove by and a subject inside flipped the officer off and yelled curse words. The subject was spoken to later, and became physically aggressive with officers. Jody White was arrested for alleged assault, breach of peace and two counts of interfering with an officer.

8:57 p.m. Megan Raczon was arrested on a warrant for alleged violation of a protection order.

10:39 p.m. Inmate Jody White stated she needed to use the restroom. As soon as the door to the cell was open, she attacked an officer who was there to assist the jailer. The matter was forwarded to the county attorney’s office.

Friday, June 16

9:46 a.m. Report of a nuisance yard. The owner was notified and given time to address the matter.

12:03 p.m. Report of a fraudulent call. Subject was accused of defrauding Social Security.

12:37 p.m. Report of a subject who throws trash out, but does not pick it up. Responding officer found the property was also in violation of nuisance laws and the owner was given time to address it.

1:04 p.m. Report of juveniles hanging off a fence post.

3:16 p.m. Subject reported two others were harassing her as she walked across the bridge on Broadway. All involved were spoken to, and the matter was resolved.

Saturday, June 17

9:08 a.m. Report of possible vandalism to a fence. Officer found no evidence of anyone being in the grass near the fence, or it being struck by a vehicle.

2:01 p.m. Civil standby provided for a custody exchange.

2:53 p.m. James Folsom was arrested for alleged sexual assault. No further information was available.

11:27 p.m. Officer responded to a dispute among family members. A family member left the residence, though a trespass notice was requested against him.

Sunday, June 18

8:46 a.m. Report of a window broken and items taken from a vehicle.

11:03 p.m. Complainant reported a possible intoxicated pedestrian. The subject in question was gone by the time an officer arrived.

Monday, June 19

11:02 a.m. Report of an out of county vehicle “brake checking” a semi. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

11:14 a.m. Complainant reported a dog in a vehicle with the windows rolled up. Responding officer noted the driver’s window was down and the dog did not appear distressed.

8:51 p.m. Subject turned in a found tablet.

Circuit court

Lisa Williams was found guilty of domestic assault, second or subsequent offense, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 days suspension and one year supervised probation. Fees and fines are $740.

Shannon Nolley was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $690.

Jessica Bledsoe was bound over to district court on a charge of having a child where meth is stored, ingested or possessed.
