Ona Mount

Ona Mae Mount, 87, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis following a period of declining health.

Born December 12, 1929, in Medicine Lodge, Kan., she was the daughter of Elom and Maude (Summers) Garman.

In 1947 she married John B. Mount in Medicine Lodge. They lived in Russell, Kan., until 1952, when they moved to Plainville, Kan. Due to John's job with Skelly/Getty Oil they were transferred to Trenton, Neb., then Pratt, Kan., and in 1968, Thermopolis.

Ona was a member of the Community Federated Church and Eastern Star, Vesper Chapter #19. She and John were avid bowlers and golfers and enjoyed traveling. Ona enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting and movies.

She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn (Ross) Guthery of Buffalo, Wyo., and Jackie (Skeet) Dewey of Hillrose, Colo .; son, Mark (Debbie) Mount of Thermopolis; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at the Community Federated Church with Pastor Chuck Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
