Leonard 'Jake' Jacobs

Leonard Tennison “Jake” Jacobs, Jr., 67, died suddenly Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at his residence in Thermopolis.

 Born Feb. 7, 1949, he was one of five children of Leonard T. and Isabel (Toth) Jacobs.  After graduation from Hot Springs County High School, he attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship.  After an injury he returned to Thermopolis where he became a master mechanic after attending a local Mechanic College.

For a short time he was married to Linda Patceg.

For 20 years he was employed by REDA Pump then for Holly Sugar 15 years.  In the off season Jake established a lawn care business, “Jake’s Rakes”.  In addition, he could do whatever he set his mind to: building golf clubs, a business reloading shells and training black labs.  He enjoyed golf, fishing, dogs and was an avid hunter.  His love for his nieces and nephews was profound.

Family left to cherish Jake’s life are his sisters, Lena May DiFelici, Thermopolis and Linda Abell, Worland; brother, Marvin Jacobs, Casper; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friend, Davey Hammond; and his kitty, Pumpkin.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jimmilee Calkins and nephew, Jordie Lee Acker.

Cremation and burial have taken place and a celebration of Jake’s life was held at his sister’s home on Sept. 4.
