On the Record policy

7:28 p.m. Car/structure fire at 333 South Second.

Monday, May 9

10:07 p.m. Dumpster fire in Candy Jack Park.

Sheriff’s department

Thursday, May 5

4:25 p.m. Report of a truck all over the road. A deputy was unable to locate a vehicle matching the description provided.

Friday, May 6

2:12 p.m. School district called about two out-of-county vehicles that were passing school busses. One vehicle had tinted windows and the driver could not be identified. The second driver was identified as a male subject, and the owner of the vehicle will be contacted.

4:44 p.m. Burlington was replacing a crossing arm and the Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Monday, May 9

11:49 p.m. Report of a girl picking up a dog who was following her. The animal was taken to the vet.

Wednesday, May 4

12:02 p.m. A runaway from Salt Lake City contacted the National Runaway Safeline. She was turned over to Department of Family Services.

3:16 p.m. Report of an alleged assault between a grandmother and granddaughter. The juvenile was transported to another address.

5:44 p.m. Report of a male subject in the final stages of dementia and being violent. The subject was calmed.

7:38 p.m. Call was initially for trespassing. However, a male subject stopped and spoke to a female subject at a fence, and did not go on the property.

Thursday, May 5

8:28 a.m. Report of a scam. A male subject applied for a loan online, and was told he would have to pay $500 up front.

8:55 a.m. Caller reported repeated offenses of a male subject in a truck running a stop sign and exceeding the speed limit. The vehicle travelled too fast to get a plate number.

1:43 p.m. Male subject requested a civil standby while he retrieved some property.

3:31 p.m. Report of a person going onto property and taking items. The subject was made to put the items back.

6:08 p.m. Male subject reported he was approached by another subject who was causing problems due to money he believed he was owed. The two were informed the matter is a civil one.

6:40 p.m. Report of a car parked and blocking an area. The owner was contacted and moved the car.

8:52 p.m. REDDI report of a light-colored Expedition crossing the center line and driving dangerously. The vehicle was found parked and unoccupied.

Friday, May 6

2:12 a.m. A female subject received a call which she thought was medical in nature, but turned out to be an obscene call.

12:54 p.m. An accident at the hospital occurred when a driver backed into a parked vehicle.

Saturday, May 7

1:59 p.m. A female subject called complaining her father had received fraudulent calls. He has sent in money, but calls continue. He was advised to tell the caller he has spoken to law enforcement.

8:37 p.m. Report of a male beagle that went missing. The dog was later found Monday and returned to the owner.

9:47 p.m. Officer responded to a civil standby. A male subject had moved here and was staying with a friend and his girlfriend. A fight occurred amongst the three.

10:16 p.m. Report of a dog at large. The animal was found by the owner.

11:20 p.m. Report of a noise complaint. When officer arrived, he heard no noise.

Sunday, May 8

12:41 a.m. A male subject was found sleeping in a vehicle with out-of-county plates in the parking lot of Shorty’s. Though the vehicle was not running, the subject, identified as James Boles, was behind the wheel. Boles had been kicked out of the bar earlier, and was arrested for alleged driving under the influence, breach of peace, driving under suspension and sexual battery.

1:48 p.m. Complaint of a vehicle with no plates. The vehicle was not located.

2:06 p.m. Juveniles were on top of the bathroom at Candy Jack Park. Officers advised the juveniles to stay off, and they said they would stay off any and all roofs.

4:02 p.m. Report of two barking dogs. The owner was contacted and said he would address the problem.

Monday, May 9

10:16 a.m. Call about dogs running in and out of traffic. The dogs were later found sleeping in a yard.

11:46 a.m. Complainant reported a person had stayed at a motel room for a long period without paying. The subject were previously allowed to stay as they were doing work at the hotel. The matter is currently a civil one.

1:39 p.m. Report of a possibly intoxicated male. Prior to officer arrival, the subject went into a residence and did not come out.

Circuit court

Jerry Merritt was found guilty of interfering with a peace officer, and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 days suspended and one year supervised probation. Fees and fines are $640.

Kory Loos was found guilty of battery and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 90 days suspended and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $415.

James Lee was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance, plant, three ounces or less, and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspension and one year unsupervised probation. Fees and fines $665.

Danielle Houchin was found guilty of driving under the influence and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 88 days suspended and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $640.

Dalton Donahoo was found guilty of fraud by check under $1,000, theft under $1,000 and identity theft under $1,000. Donahoo was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspension and six months supervised probation. Fees and fines are $920, with $1,288.08 restitution.

Births

Freya Raiin Danis was born Friday, May 6, 2016, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Charity Wrightson of Kalispell, Mont. and Reese Danis of Thermopolis, Wyo.

She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Beverly Lakes of Kalispell, and Mark Danis and Maralee and Rick Hilzendeger of Thermopolis.

Eliana Rose Baer was born Friday, May 6, 2016, at Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital to Elisha Schlafke-Baer of Bagdad, Ariz., and John Baer III of Bairoil, Wyo.

She weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Mark and Wanda Schlafke of Bagdad, Ariz., and Allen and Chrystal Rhodes of Greybull, Wyo.
