May full of school activities

The final weeks of school for students in Hot Springs County are chock full of events and activities to celebrate students’ successes and hard work.

On Thursday, May 12, Hot Springs County High School will host the High School Drama Banquet from 6-8 p.m. in the High School Commons.

Ralph Witters Elementary kindergarten graduation will be Friday, May 13 from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the school auditorium

The 2016 FCA Baccalaureate Service will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 16 in the auditorium. The guest speaker for the event will be Brian Johnson, who is currently serving as the pastor of the Risen Son Southern Baptist Church in Thermopolis. Johnson’s home was in Thermopolis as a child before he moved to Laramie to play football at the University of Wyoming. He began pursuing God in his last years at the university. Johnson and his family were called back to Thermopolis in 2014. He is happy to share his interests including a sharp leaning curve in agriculture, weight training, fitness and most of all his love for Christ with anyone who will listen.

FCA will host a social for seniors and family members immediately following the service.

The High School Senior Awards Night will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17 in the auditorium.

Ralph Witters Elementary will hold an “Our Country Tis of Thee” music program from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 19 in the RWE Commons. The program will include kindergarten through second grade students.

The RWE Field Day will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20 at the high school track.

High School graduates will receive their diploma at the High School Graduation from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the high school gym. A senior graduation party will be from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. that evening at Thermopolis Middle School.

RWE Year End Awards will be given from 8:15-9:15 a.m. Friday, May 27 at the auditorium.

TMS awards ceremonies will be held Friday, May 27 in the gym with 5th/6th grade awards from 9:45-10:30 a.m. and 7th/8th grade awards from 11 a.m.-noon.
