Shinost was found guilty by a jury in Washakie County District Court in Worland on Feb. 4 on three counts including, count one, aggravated vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the death of Madisen "Maddie" Price; count two, control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol resulting in serious bodily injury to Delanie Price; and count three, control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in serious bodily injury to Dylan Balstad. Count one, a felony, carries a possible 20-year sentence and/or $10,000 fine. Counts two and three carry a possible 10-year sentence for each charge.

The crash occurred on May 14, 2014, approximately 15 miles north of Thermopolis on WYO 172. Shinost's vehicle left the roadway and rolled ejecting both of the Price girls. Balstad, who was trapped in the back seat, had to be extricated from the vehicle.
