Vietti presents paleontology program at historical meeting

Dr. Laura Vietti will be presenting the program “Wyoming Paleontology: Fossils that inspired a Nation” at the Saturday, March 12 Hot Springs County Historical Society meeting. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the county museum.

Wyoming has an extremely rich and continuous fossil record that has forever impacted the field of paleontology. Vietti’s presentation will cover Wyoming’s geologic past, the historical discovery of Wyoming’s fossils and discussion of fossils recovered from Hot Springs County.

Vietti is a graduate of Hot Springs County High School. She received a BS in geology from the University of Wyoming and a PhD in geology from the University of Minnesota.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
