Marie Halone, 99, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2015, in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Marie was born June 14, 1916, in Southbend, Neb., to Myrtle and Harry Anthony. She met and married Eugene Halone in Thermopolis, Wyo., where they lived in the stone house built by Eugene's father.

Marie and Eugene later moved to Billings Mont., with their 2 children, Janet and Gregory. Marie opened the Level 3 Tea Room in Billings in 1968. Marie began to cater as well as teach cooking classes out of her home. In 1990, she sold the tea room and continued to cater and teach. Later, Marie became involved in the opening of the Yellowstone Art Museum.

Marie and Eugene loved to travel going to the Bahamas, Spain, Morocco, Italy, and Mexico as well as traveling nationally. Marie later retired from catering to become the executive chef for a family in Cody, Wyo., retiring from that in 1985.

In 2009, at the age of 93, Marie wrote her cookbook, Level 3 & Me, which touched on her life and her experiences at the tea room. Marie surrounded herself with family, good friends, and fine dining. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, roses being her favorite.

She is survived by her son Greg (Sandi) Halone of Laramie, Wyo .; grandchildren Kristi Tarro of Billings, Mont., Dirk Tarro of Brisbane, Australia, Susan (Dan) Principe of Billings, Mont., Greg (Julie) Imhoff of Detroit, Texas, Penny Ready of Cody, Wyo., Eric (Karen) Harrison of Union, Ore., Travis (Nicole) Halone of Hayden, Colo., Mandi (Jason) Moore of Laramie, Wyo .; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
