Robert Snow

Robert Eugene Snow, 81, died peacefully and unexpectedly on August 17, 2015, in Portland, Ore., at the VA hospital while visiting family.

Bob was born on August 27, 1933, in Kokomo, Ind., to Harold Francis Snow and Grace Evelyn Howard Snow. He graduated from Kokomo High School. At the age of 18, while visiting Wyoming, he enlisted in the Air Force in the Air Force Police.

Bob married Violet Virginia Pitt and they were blessed with 5 children. He helped raise his children and provided for them. He instilled in them a good work ethic, citizenship, love for country, how to serve God and their fellowmen. In 1970 the family left Wyoming and made Oregon their home. In 1977 Bob earned an AA Degree in Civil Engineering at Portland Community College.

Bob worked as a meat cutter for 45 years for various grocery stores. After retiring from meat cutting, Bob became a manager at the Star Plunge in Thermopolis, Wyo .; he met many wonderful people there and enjoyed working with them. Bob loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many different callings in the church. He found great joy in working on genealogy and serving others.

Bob is survived by his wife, Violet; daughter, Robin Snow; son Robert (Suzanne Trimble) Snow; daughter, Regina (Tim) McCarthy; son Richard (Cara Stillwell) Snow; daughter Rochelle Snow; grandchildren Jessica Forney; Jason, Kayla, and April Snow; Timothy, Rebekah-Lynn, Robyn, Rachel, and Tyler McCarthy; great-grandson Mason Forney; and sister Ruth Ann Snow Neil.

He is preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Fay Snow Taylor; his parents; and grandparents Lewis Elbert and Bertha Elnora Horton Snow, Rolla E. Dotterer and Emily Evelyn Shelley (Howard) Dotterer, and Charles Orlando Howard.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Thermopolis, WY, on August 29, 2015. Bishop Christopher Paris will officiate the ceremony.
