Paul McKinstray

December 24, 1960 - April 8, 2015

Paul McKinstray, 54, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at his home in Kirby. His death occurred on the same day as his mother's interment, his father's 100th birthday and at the hour of his brother's, Dale, death.

Born December 24, 1960, in Jackson, Wyo., he was the son of Van and Gladys (Ransom) McKinstray. He graduated from Jackson High School.

 Together since 1984, Paul and Marlene (Berniece) moved to Casper, then later to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they had their daughter Melissa. Paul was a mechanic from 1978-1987. For the remainder of his life he owned his own trucking company leasing to three companies. He took pride in remaining loyal to each company. He and Marlene moved to Thermopolis in 2000.

 He was known and cared about by many people nationwide for his serious demeanor and interesting sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, camping, baseball games, lilacs in full bloom, his dogs, watching NCIS and movies with his family.

 Paul is survived by his wife; daughter; grandson Dryden; brother, Darrell (Candy) of Townsend, Mont .; nephews, Raymond and Steven McKinstray and their families; relatives, Shane Ransom, Ruth, Danny and Virgil Ward, Wayne and Sandra Ransom and their families; and best friends, Tom Foust, Chick Leisinger, Gene Lowder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dale.  

A memorial service will be held in Jackson, Wyo. on a Saturday as soon as the lilacs bloom. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund set up at Sunlight Federal Credit Union, 1429 Big Horn Ave., Worland, 82401, in Marlene McKinstray's name. Paul's Facebook page will be open for condolences and announcements regarding his wake and memorial service.
