    The Knights of Columbus of St. Francis Church will host fish frys for the next consecutive Fridays during Lent, Feb. 23 and March 2, 9 and 16. The dinners will be at John Paul II Center, located across the street from the church at 8th and Arapahoe, from 5-7 p.m. Prices are $10 for 15 years and older and $5 for ages 5-14.     The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 97th Annual Chamber Banquet on March 24. The banquet theme is “An Evening with the Stars” and chamber will honor the 2017 Business Citizen, and Non-Profit Organization of the Year.     This past weekend saw the Thermopolis Middle School eighth grade "B" team emerge the champions at their home tournament. Coach Shane Corpening stated in their first game against Lander the boys jumped to a 19-10 lead in the first half thanks to a strong defensive second quarter. Though Lander tried to take a run in the fourth, some timely shots and good free throws put the Bobcats ahead 35-32 at the final buzzer.   • Republican Convention set for March 10

    The Hot Springs County Republican Convention will be held on March 10 at 9 a.m. at Big Horn Federal. The caucuses were Feb. 17, during which 60 convention delegates were chosen. Their job will be to unify precinct suggestions into the county’s recommendations. The recommendations will them be presented as Hot Springs County’s proposal for consideration during the Wyoming State Republican Convention in Laramie on April 21.     Blood draws for the Kiwanis Community Health Fair are scheduled for March 1-3 from 7-10 a.m. at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. No appointment is necessary for the draws, and walk-ins are welcome. This year, the health fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Thermopolis Middle School gymnasium.
