Lippincott’s photo of an elephant, taken at Salt Lake’s Hogle Zoo, was the first-place winner in the competition sponsored by Duke Energy, Memorial Hospital of Converse County and the Douglas Chamber of Commerce. “I’ve entered quite a few shows with this photo,” Lippincott said. “It’s been in shows in Utah, including the Utah State Fair.”
- Residents around the state, except the northwest and southeast regions, are asked to participate in an online survey to help identify and address broadband gaps in Wyoming, according to the Wyoming Business Council.

- Thermopolis and Worland indoor track and field athletes had competition spanning the state at the Stadium Sports Grill Open Friday at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D. Teams from across Wyoming participated in the track meet, including various 4A schools from Gillette, Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Sheridan and Riverton.
In the team events, the Thermopolis girls took second in the distance medley, which is a relay event in which each team member runs a further distance each time the baton is passed. The boys unfortunately were disqualified from their medley because they had dropped the baton outside the exchange zone.
