Golf team is weathered out

The Hot Springs County High School golf team was scheduled to travel to Sheridan last week, to play on the Powder Horn Golf Course - one of the premier private golf courses in the state. Unfortunately, and very disappointingly, weather conditions deteriorated towards the end of the week – resulting in the cancellation of that event.

Coach Brandon Deromedi said, “We have tried for the last five years to get to play that outstanding golf course, but Mother Nature has always had other ideas. It would be really nice to have our golfers have a chance to play there, so I guess we’ll have to keep trying.”

This week, the team will be hitting the road on Friday to compete in the Powell Invite, at the Powell Golf Club – an eighteen hole, par 72, course located just east of the town of Powell.

As the short spring season seems to fly, the team will have just three tournaments before conference begins on May 9-10.

Next week, the Bobcats and Lady Cats will compete at The Golf Club at Devil’s Tower in Hulett, on Monday, April 29 and then at the Olive Glenn Golf Club in Cody on Friday, May 3.
