Clyde Brown Cable, Jr.

1954 - 2024

Clyde Brown Cable, Jr., 70, of Thermopolis, Wyo., passed away on February 23, 2024.

He was born on February 8, 1954, in Perryton, Texas, to Clyde Brown, Sr. and Mary Frances (Earhart) Cable. After suffering from a tragic gun accident at 2 years old, Clyde was left with only arm. He grew up in Texas and graduated from Cal Farley Boys Ranch in 1972. He worked for the Sheriff's department until he moved to Thermopolis in 1986 to be closer to his mother.

In Thermopolis, Clyde met Lea Arnold at Granny's bakery, where he worked as a baker. They married on December 28, 1990 and were blessed with three boys in quick succession: twins Clyde III and Steven, followed by Duard. Clyde and Lea were married for 14 years before divorcing.

A medical emergency in 1990 left Clyde disabled, forcing him to retire. Despite this, he remained active, taking on odd jobs throughout his life. In 2020, Clyde's health began to decline, leading to a tracheostomy. His health continued to deteriorate, and he faced various complications.

In his free time, Clyde loved to bake and was renowned for his peach cobbler. He was a passionate foodie, always eager to cook a delicious meal for others. He also found solace in fishing, particularly for catfish, enjoying the peacefulness of the activity.

Clyde was known for his strong will and determination. He was someone who knew what he wanted and was never afraid to stand up for it. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Clyde III (Elizabeth) Cable of Casper, Wyo., Steven Cable, Duard Cable both of Thermopolis and stepson, Daniel Couch of Worland; brother, Howard (Carla) Cable of Thermopolis; sisters, Martha (Chris) Katzenberger and Bernice Cable both of Thermopolis.
