Get ready for Wyo Wednesdays

by Suzanne Samelson

Main Street Thermopolis has plans for the spring season, starting with Wyo Wednesday on April 7.

The first Wednesday of the month is a perfect day to take a look at the shopping here in Thermopolis.

As we move into the spring season, there are many reasons to celebrate this time of year.

Among some of the special items available at our local businesses, I have seen the new quilting and related supplies along with a sweet line-up of Easter chocolates and cards at some of the wonderful downtown businesses.

Gardening supplies are out at some of the businesses around town.

Restaurants and food businesses are starting to change their offerings to welcome spring too.

These are just some of what is available locally, along with the added touch of personalized customer service.

Main Street Thermopolis, made up of volunteers who are your friends and neighbors, is dedicated to encouraging, supporting and partnering with the Thermopolis and Hot Springs community to keep our downtown lively and welcoming.

A key part of this is shopping locally as much as possible.  Maybe you are tired of hearing the words “shop local”. But without a concerted effort to shop locally, our businesses will be hard-pressed to offer the variety and service we have come to expect.

I encourage the downtown businesses to wear their Shop Smart, Shop Safe t-shirts - both the owners and the staff.

And if you were one of the folks who purchased a special T-shirt at the Farmers Market last summer, wear it proudly on Wyo Wednesday.

Stay tuned for information about our late spring Downtown Cleanup in mid-May.

I look forward to seeing many of you shopping in downtown and all around the town on Wyo Wednesday, April 7.
