Main Street's smart shopping campaign kicks off

Wyoming Main Street's "Shop Smart, Shop Safe" campaign kicked off last week and you have probably seen the window clings and decals in our local businesses.

Promoting safe practices while you're out shopping is the idea behind the campaign with a billboard on US 20 North, just outside of town. Main Street Thermopolis distributed the window clings and decals as well as t-shirts to the shops and restaurants along our historic downtown district that features the campaign's buffalo logo.

To go along with the campaign is Wyo Wednesdays and Main Street Thermopolis will be hosting Wyo Wednesdays on the first Wednesday of each month, starting last week.

The first winner was Ellen Reed who won the first gift basket of goodies filled with a variety of local items from downtown businesses.

The trick was to answer a question presented by Main Street. Correct answers go into a drawing for a big prize. This time, more than a dozen folks answered the question correctly before Reed's name was drawn as the winner.

"There are a lot of great items and I'm thrilled to be the winner," Reed said.

Next month's Wyo Wednesday will be on August fifth.
