Nominations open for kids dig

The Wyoming Dinosaur Center is accepting scholarship nominations to attend the 2018 Kids’ Dig scheduled for June 23. The scholarships are sponsored by local businesses and pay for kids to attend the daylong event. The cost is regularly $100 per child.

Nominated kids must be from Hot Springs County, be ages 8-12 and not participated in a previous Kids’ Dig. Cutoff date for nominations is June 20, and nomination forms can be picked up at the center. Currently, 19 spots for the scholarships are open, and kids can be nominated by anyone.

The Kids’ Dig will be June 23 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with lunch included. In addition to activities at the center, including working in the prep lab, they will also get to dig in one of the sites and collect invertebrate fossils from the Sundance Sea formation.
