On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, March 13

1:40 p.m. Thomas R. Haagensen was arrested on a warrant.

Wednesday, March 14

4:14 p.m. Report of theft. The matter is under investigation.

Thursday, March 15

1:41 p.m. Subject reported receiving threats, and wanted it documented.

Friday, March 16

5:15 p.m. Trevor M. Davidson was arrested for alleged intoxication.

11:05 p.m. Report of a fight between two inmates. The subjects were separated and charges are pending.

Saturday, March 17

7:05 a.m. Report of a truck weaving all over the road. The vehicle could not be located.

Sunday, March 18

3:42 p.m. Report of a damaged “no trespassing” sign.

Monday, March 19

12:09 p.m. Complaint of people trespassing on private property.

Tuesday, March 13

8:55 a.m. Officer responded to a domestic dispute. The nature of the dispute was discussed and the parties calmed down.

12 p.m. Report of fraud and use of information to obtain student loans.

8:50 p.m. Subject reported what he thought was a cougar near the river. No animal was located.

Wednesday, March 14

9:09 a.m. A civil standby was provided while property was retrieved.

9:26 a.m. Report of a subject acting suspicious at a property. The subject was found to be the property owner.

1:25 p.m. Report of a possible intoxicated driver. The driver was elderly, but was not intoxicated and had no other medical issues.

1:54 p.m. Carrie A. Creager was arrested for alleged shoplifting.

Thursday, March 15

8:36 a.m. Traffic control was provided to a tractor trailer making a delivery.

12:03 p.m. Report of a cement truck coming into town that had lost its brakes. The driver was able to get the vehicle stopped.

Friday, March 16

1:48 a.m. A juvenile was cited for minor in possession, minor in possession of tobacco and no driver’s license.

12:34 p.m. Report of a school bus from another community that was speeding and following vehicles too closely. The vehicle was located, but no violations were observed.

5:24 p.m. Justin C. Wareham was arrested for alleged driving under the influence, driving under suspension, driving without an interlock device and open container.

8:05 p.m. Report of a subject driving recklessly.

Saturday, March 17

3:47 p.m. Officer responded to a domestic dispute involving violence. Jason A. Krueger was arrested for alleged domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance.

5:18 p.m. Complaint from an elderly female subject who stated a young man had been coming to her house and asking for money.

Sunday, March 18

2:36 p.m. Caller expressed concern about a boater on the river. The subject was found to be OK.

Monday, March 19

11:08 a.m. Report of a vehicle driving recklessly. An officer followed the vehicle but did not observe any violations.

3:49 p.m. Report of an intoxicated subject. Investigation revealed the subject was on probation and was involved in a domestic disturbance. Robert J. Hunter Jr. was arrested for alleged domestic assault.

Monday, March 19

3:59 p.m. Report of a suspected intoxicated subject at a school. The subject was not intoxicated but was there to pick up another person’s child. Other arrangements were made.

Xzander Kauge Goodman was born Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Tiphanie Reynolds of Wyoming.

He weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Shawn and Melissa Goodman of Wyoming.

Dawson Patrick Cornwell was born Monday, March 12, 2018, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Amanda and Tanner Cornwell of Wyoming.

He weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

Grandparents are Janet and Dick Dickeson and Pat and Brenda Cornwell, all of Wyoming.

Circuit court

Cache Anderson was found guilty of driving under the influence, .08% or more and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $805.

Tony J. Sorelle was bound over to district court on two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Thomas R. Haagensen was found guilty of battery and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 59 days suspension and six months supervised probation.

Stephanie Bowman was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and no insurance and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 60 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $310.
