On the Record policy

It is the Thermopolis Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police department” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Nov 20

11:59 a.m. Report of a theft. The matter is under investigation.

4:30 p.m. Request for a deputy for a civil standby. The deputy was not needed.

5:35 p.m. Shawna Stubbs was arrested for alleged public intoxication.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

10:39 a.m. Report of a bag of bentonite falling off a truck. The Wyoming Department of Transportation cleared the road.

9:31 p.m. Report of a vehicle speeding through Kirby. The suspect vehicle could not be located.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

4:01 p.m. Assist provided with Department of Family Services (DFS) regarding a subject not being able to pay bills or afford medication.

Thursday, Nov. 23

3:04 p.m. Assist provided with DFS for a urine analysis.

4:20 p.m. Report of cows out on the highway. The owner could not be contacted, but the animals were put back in.

Friday, Nov. 24

1:02 p.m. Complainant reported a vehicle theft. The matter was deemed civil in nature.

2:10 p.m. Assist with DFS for a urine analysis.

5:51 p.m. Welfare check on a female subject, who was found to be OK.

Sunday, Nov. 26

6:29 p.m. A building door was found unsecured. The key holder was contacted and secured the door. Nothing was taken.

Monday, Nov. 17

11:20 a.m. Report of a traffic accident, in which one vehicle backed into another.

Monday, Nov. 20

10:33 a.m. Report of a dog at large. The animal could not be located.

11:13 a.m. Patrick L. Wurtz was arrested for alleged probation violation.

1:18 p.m. Caller reported two cats were left behind when another party moved. The owner had left the cats as the last to move.

3:05 p.m. Report of a property sale without proper documentation. The matter is under investigation.

7:24 p.m. Report of a burglary. The matter is under investigation.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

11:57 a.m. Complainant had issues about receiving friend requests from people she didn’t know on social media.

5:11 p.m. Report of an alarm at a business. The building was secured and nothing was taken.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

9:53 a.m. Report of a possible scam via text message.

Thursday, Nov. 23

6:01 p.m. Report of a suspicious truck. The vehicle was gone prior to the officer’s arrival.

Friday, Nov. 24

10:18 a.m. Caller reported a theft from a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

12:13 p.m. Report of a possible fight. By the time the incident was done, a female subject was leaving peacefully.

12:21 p.m. A dog at large was picked up and transported to the vet.

5:55 p.m. Report of a female subject at a business screaming and yelling profanities. Stephanie S. Miller was arrested for alleged breach of peace and public intoxication.

Saturday, Nov. 25

11:32 a.m. A dog at large was picked up and taken to the vet.

Sunday, Nov. 26

12:30 a.m. Reporting party stated a juvenile had not returned home. The juvenile could not be located by the officer, but was later found at home.

11:14 a.m. REDDI report, and the vehicle was located and followed but there was no indication the driver was intoxicated.

2:55 p.m. Parents requested an officer come and visit with a juvenile.

Monday, Nov. 27

5:14 p.m. Complaint about a cat in a neighborhood. The animal could not be located.

Circuit court

Ian Sturgeon was bound over to District Court on a charge of property destruction of $1,000 or more.

William Robbins was cited for hunting, shooting or killing wildlife from the highway. Fees and fines are $240.
