Craig Cavalli

Craig Barton Cavalli, 62, of Tucker, GaA., passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, after a 4 ½ year battle with cancer.

He fought with extraordinary grace and an always-positive attitude. His deep faith, loving family and friends helped him face the difficult years. Those who knew him will always remember his kindness and his encyclopedic knowledge of sports trivia.

Craig was born July 7, 1955, in Thermopolis, Wyo., the son of Joe and Bette DeBerry Cavalli. He graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 1973, where he was selected to attend Wyoming Boys State and was Senior Class President. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a business degree, and Arizona State University with an accounting degree.

He was employed by J. C. Penney Co., the Internal Revenue Service, and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service from which he retired in January of this year, after 20 years of service. Craig was active in his church, Immaculate Heart of Mary, for over 25 years. He served on the Parish Finance Council, as a lector, and as the finance advisor for Cub Scout Troop 550..

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kennedy Cavalli; children Erin Marie and Joseph Bryan (Jay); sister Lea (T.J.) Cavalli Schoenewald; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur, Ga., on July 30 concluding with a vigil service and rosary. A mass of Christian burial was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Atlanta, on Monday, July 31.
