Smokin' Waters Golf tourney

Hot Springs County 4-H will be hosting the 4th Annual Smokin’ Waters Golf Invitational Saturday, July 15.

There are two tee times for golfers on Saturday, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. All golfers are welcome to play in this event and encouraged to do so.

The proceeds from this event will benefit 4-H youth in Hot Springs County. A Hole In One prize, sponsored by Wyoming 4-H Foundation, is a $25,000 cash prize for a hole in one on hole eight.

Joey Johnson, Hot Springs County 4-H Educator says, “It would be awesome to be able to award this prize. It would be great for the winner and the tournament!”

Golfers will have several opportunities at winning awards and prizes. They will be raffling several pieces of golf equipment to players, gift cards and gift certificates from local businesses.

Smokin’ Waters Golf Tournament will also give out pro shop gift certificates to the top three teams gross and net and cash prizes for closest to the pin on holes two, five and hole eight, but golfers will have to pay $10 to be a part of those contests.

Pinnacle Bank is also giving away $1,000 to the top three putters in the Pinnacle Bank Putting Contest. You have to play in the Saturday tournament to be entered in the putting contest.

Registration for this event will be $100 per player and the format requires a team of four players. The fee helps cover green fees, cart rentals, lunch and prizes.

If you want to play and need more team members call the Thermopolis Golf Club at 864-5294 or Joey Johnson at 272-2539 and they will make every effort to assist you.

“I would like to thank all of our local business and community members for your generosity and support for this event,” Johnson said. “We have over 80 sponsors for our tournament! Your sponsorships are greatly appreciated, and they support the youth in our county. I am always overwhelmed at how great this community is at supporting our kids.”
