Roadrunner opens at new location

Music, people, bargains and food helped fill Roadrunner's new home at 184 Highway 20 South during an open house Thursday, Nov. 17.

Lisa Bowman, who owns the business with her husband Matt, said they recently moved from across the street, as their former location was "down in a hole." She could look out from the window and just see the top of the highway.

The business also was expanded to include automotive in addition to oil field supply, as they have two mechanics working for them, and they ran out of room. The new space was built from the ground up where The Flying Dutchman used to stand.

Providing automotive services, which includes just about everything except bodywork, helped out when the oil field went south, Bowman said. They still provide plenty of supplies that the oil fields need, but have seen a lot come in for automotive work. They have two lifts and machines for tire mounting, alignments and diagnostics in their mechanic arsenal.

In addition to seeing firsthand what the new shop has to offer, those attending the open house enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs and homemade cinnamon rolls. Proceeds from roll sales went to the Risen Son Christian School, and members of the school's orchestra provided some dining music.
