RWE Red Ribbon Week set

Ralph Witter’s elementary will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 26-30.

The Red Ribbon Campaign was started after drug traffickers in Mexico City had kidnapped and murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985. The red ribbon is a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. With a goal of creating a unified and visible commitment for a drug free America the Red Ribbon Campaign continues on.

This years overall theme is “Respect yourself-be drug free” and there will be a different theme each day.

Monday, Oct. 26 is “Wear red day,” students can show their support by wearing red.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 is “ I’m a jean-ius,” students can show support by wearing blue jeans.

Wednesday, Oct. 28 is “Sock it to drugs,” students can show support by wearing mixed matched or crazy socks.

Thursday, Oct. 29 is “I’m too bright for drugs,” students wearing bright colors will show their support.

Friday, Oct. 30 is “One school, one goal, bully & drug free,” students can wear purple and gold to show their support against being bullied and doing drugs.
