Golf tourney raises nearly $12,000

There was no hole-in-one winner during the Smokin' Waters Golf Invitational held Saturday at Thermopolis Golf Course, but nearly $12,000 was raised for Hot Springs County 4-H and FFA.

The team of Ethan Brooks, Binky Fisher, Travis McDermott and Parke Price took gross honors with a score of 53. Darin Homer, Kevin Homer, Bob Ryan and Bob Uffelman came in second at 55. Third place gross went to Donnie Bjorhus, Hardy Johnson, Joey Johnson and Jake Smith with 56.

Gil Guyon, TJ Owsley, Ty Vass and Jonathan Williams claimed first place in the net category with 44. Second place net went to Bob Georguis, Gil Guyon, Wes Harvey and TJ Owsley. Bailer Fisher, Dakota Jeffs, Jackson Roling and Mick Stucky were third in net with 48.6.

Putting Contest:  1st $500 Darin Homer, 2nd $300 Hardy Johnson, $200 Dusty McLean.

Calcutta: 1st $1,374 Tumbleweed Propane, 2nd $860 Cassie Owsley, 3rd $540 Kevin Homer.

Closest to the Pin Jackpots on the par three's. People paid a $10 entry fee to get the closest to the pin on the first shot each of the jackpots paid over $600 to the winners. The winners are: Closest to pin hole 2: Greg Willson - 17 inches, closet to pin hole 5: Frank Toth - 4.5 inches, and closest to pin Hole 8: Parke Price - 4 feet.
