Linn takes over dog grooming

A familiar face is keeping a familiar business in the community. After 40 years operating Heavenly Scent Dog Grooming, Jean Bennett is turning the reins over to long-time assistant Andrea Linn.

Originally from Illinois and Florida, Linn has been a part of the Thermopolis community for 13 years and has been grooming dogs for nearly 30. She started out of necessity when she acquired a standard poodle who she trained to retrieve and show in small theatrical presentations. She eventually joined a poodle club and got a lot of practice not only grooming her own poodle, but also helping other members groom their dogs as well. Linn has been passionate about animal welfare for many years and while in Florida received a degree in Veterinary Technology.

Transitioning from part-time groomer to owner of Heavenly Scent Dog Grooming has been a smooth and exciting transition for Linn. She notes that she learned a lot from Bennett and feels that her meticulous grooming habits from working with poodles will help her new business succeed. Linn's bright smile and obvious love of her work should help her succeed, as well, because more than anything Linn says, "I enjoy making dogs look pretty."

Linn is currently taking clients by appointment only and offering the same services as before: standard grooming with nail clippings, checking ears, and anal gland expression for small dogs. She welcomes dogs with more extensive grooming requirements (i.e. poodles, bichons, maltese) but notes these appointments may have a higher charge.
