Time to Clean-up Thermop

May 11-14 has been chosen as Spring Clean-up for Thermopolis.

All residents and business owners are being asked to clean up their property in preparation for the upcoming tourist season.

The town will have staff members available to assist people with cleanup during the week.

Property owners are being asked to clean the sidewalk in front of their businesses. The town street sweeper will also be operating during these days to remove debris from the street.

People are being asked to place all debris from the cleanup in sturdy boxes or heavy-duty bags, so that they don’t break when picked up.

Materials outside of dumpsters should not be leaning against the garbage bins. This will allow for the regular trash to be picked up without incident.

Paint cans still containing liquid should be filled with sand or dirt as to absorb any leftover liquid. The liquids should then sit in order to be absorbed and dry.

Additionally, contractors doing yard work are responsible for picking up the debris and taking them to the landfill.

When placing items next to the dumpsters for spring cleanup, people are asked to call town hall for a pickup. Town hall can be reached at 864-3838 or at 864-9285.

The town will not be accepting items containing Freon, any concrete, gravel, dirt piles, construction debris or hazardous waste.

A disposal area for metal has been set up near the town shop. All citizens and contractors can use this area instead of hauling appliances or metal debris to the landfill.
