    Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Tiffany Ringgenberg of Cody pleaded not guilty to felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver meth. The charges carry with them a combined possible sentence of 27 years in prison and a $40,000 fine. Though no date is yet scheduled, trial is expected to take at least three days for Ringgenberg. However, she is only one of three subjects arrested July 22 in a meth bust involving over 91 grams of the drug. Though...

    During Sept. 4 meeting of the Hot Springs County Local Emergency Planning Committee, John Fish brought up concerns about what would happen if the bridge on Sixth Street spanning the river were to collapse. The bridge was downgraded from traffic to a footbridge in 1994, and Fish said the last inspection he could find record for was in 1992.   • Man killed in motorcycle crash Friday

    On Friday, Sept. 6, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 134 on US Highway 20 near Thermopolis. Around 4:45 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a motor vehicle collision. A 2009 Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on US Highway 20 and had started to enter a construction zone. A Ford F-550 was slowing to a stop at the direction of a construction flagger.     Monday afternoon in Hot Springs District Court, Judge Bobbi Overfield sentenced Byron Huffstetler to three years of supervised probation on a charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance. The charge stems from a Dec. 23, 2018 controlled buy incident, during which Huffstetler was found to have less then one gram of methamphetamine.     The 2019 Hunting with Heroes event is planned for the weekend of Sept. 27 and 28. Ten participants from Arkansas, California, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky and Michigan will come to the Thermopolis VFW for the event, with check in on Sept. 27.     A new digitizing project is getting ready to begin at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center, thanks to a recent grant. The grant, given on behalf of the State Historical Records Advisory Board will make it possible for the museum to digitize photos, documents and record personal stories of life in Gebo, Crosby and Kirby, with emphasis on the coal mining industry of the time.
