  • Senior center offering prime rib dinner

    The Hot Springs County Senior Center is planning a special prime rib dinner for Saturday, June 30. The evening will feature prime rib along with baked potato, green beans and rolls along with a full soup and salad bar. Black Forest cake will top things off.     During their regular meeting last Thursday, the Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce Board approved their budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year.     Father's Day weekend saw plenty of people attending the annual Hot Spot Car Rally in Hot Springs State Park. There were a total 79 entrants for this year's show, though that is down by about a third and the drop is likely due to the rainy weather.     Mike Chimenti is among the candidates filed for mayor of Thermopolis. A Wyoming native, Chimenti was born in Fremont County and raised and educated in Dubois. In 1974, he moved to Thermopolis when he accepted a job with the Thermopolis Police Department.     Among the candidates for Hot Springs County Sheriff is Jeremie Kraushaar. Kraushaar graduated from high school here but moved away for a couple years before returning and working for the Town of Thermopolis prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, where he’s been for a little over 14 years.
