    Earlier this month, Police Chief Steven Shay announced before the Town Council that Sergeant Mike Chimenti was bidding farewell to law enforcement. As of Monday, Chimenti is officially off-duty, having tendered his resignation. This June would have marked his 42nd year.     The Hot Springs County High School handed out academic letter awards on Monday night at a ceremony at the school. Cortney O’Conner, high school counselor, said in order to qualify for an academic letter, students must be on any of the three honor rolls for two consecutive semesters. For the ceremony, students who lettered from the Spring 2015 and Fall of 2015 honor roll lists were honored. There were 76 students who qualified for the award.     Monday at A Cut Above, John Zupan received his first haircut in five years from Beth Benavidez. Zupan chose to grow his hair out - enduring negative and positive comments - to donate it to Wigs for Kids. The organization provides hairpieces for children who have suffered hair loss, to help boost their confidence and self-esteem. Donated hair must be at least 12 inches long, and Zupan gave 14.
