    Remington Ferree presents the FFA Creed during the regional competition Tuesday afternoon. Ferree tied for second in Districts, and placed fifth in Regionals. Also competing in this past week's FFA Speech events were Jeffery VanAntwerp, who places third in Extemporaneous in Districts and fourth in Regionals, and Chase White, who placed third in Prepared at Districts and fifth at Regionals.     Dana Bjorhus, a 2013 graduate of Hot Springs County High School in Thermopolis and currently studying at the University of Wyoming, has recently been named the Outstanding Major of the Year by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE). NASPE is an affiliate of the Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE), the largest professional organization of physical educators in the country. SHAPE was previously known as AAHPERD.     Saturday night at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds, the Thermopolis Gymkhana Series hosted their Bucks for Buckaroos event and raised about $1,500 that will go to year-end awards for this year’s Gymkhana series.     The Bobcat Speech and Debate team will be making their 16th appearance at the National Tournament in June after Tyler Kay qualified in humor over the weekend in Rock Springs.     It’s about three weeks before the playoffs begins for the Hot Springs County Rec District’s Adult Basketball League, and Red Rock Family Practice continues to lead with a 69-50 victory over One Hill of a Cizzle on March 14, bringing their record to 7-0 and One Hill’s to 5-2.     During the regular meeting of Hot Springs Travel and Tourism, Director Amanda Moeller said Thermopolis will be home to the Wyoming Office of Tourism board meeting on Tuesday, April 17 at 8 a.m. She expects many of the members to stick around and attend the Travel and Tourism Board meeting, which is the same day.     Main Street Thermopolis and Big Horn Federal are teaming up this year to clean up Thermopolis in recognition of Earth Day with the first Adopt-a-Block program.
