    The Lady Cats wrapped up their season at the 3A East Regional tournament last weekend in Burns. The Cats went into their first game against Torrington knowing that their whole focus needed to be on defense and getting critical stops.     The 2A Thermopolis Bobcat wrestling team finished off their season this past weekend at state in Casper with two wrestlers bringing home championships. The Cats were 5.5 points short of bringing home a trophy and ended tied for fifth place.     The Lady Cats were in Buffalo this last weekend where they went into the game feeling prepared and felt that the game started well for the first half, being down by only seven points at halftime. The varsity girls were playing good defense even though the Cats were facing foul trouble with Johnson, Brooks and Bowman all having two fouls.   • Middle school eighth grade boys earn conference championship

    Thermopolis Middle School eighth grade Bobcats finished their season last weekend going into the tournament ranked number one and coming out conference champions. The Cats went up against Worland to start the tournament. They had all intentions to keep the Warriors under twenty points going into halftime which was a reachable goal as they were only able to score 21 points for the whole game.     The Bobcat wrestling team came home from the 2A Regional tournament winning second overall as a team, earning three championships, three top four placings and qualifying 14 wrestlers for state in Casper next weekend.     Middle School Bobcats are wrapping up their season with Conference this coming weekend in Thermopolis. Last Tuesday the 8th grade Cats were on home turf against Worland and were able to secure the win with a final score Thermopolis 51, Worland 28. The Cats had a slow start to the game and with a few adjustments were able to finish strong, scoring 30 points in the second half.     Bobcat wrestlers were on the road last Friday in Buffalo where they had three duals for the day. Even though the Cats won a majority of the matches, points got the best of them and they ended up losing to Lovell by one point, 42-41.     The Bobcat wrestling team had a busy schedule last week starting Tuesday in Cody. JoJo Crow and Zane Stam came away with the only wins for the evening with the Cats falling 63-18. Thursday was the Bobcats Senior night on their home turf. Seniors Wyatt McDermott, Austin Barral and Jarek Sorensen all walked away with wins. Brody Sorensen, Dalton Price, Ethan Crow, and Colter Price also had wins against Worland. As a team, the Bobcats lost to Worland, 48-24.     Thermopolis Middle School 8th grade Bobcats have had a busy and winning schedule. Last Monday the Bobcats played against Greybull with the final score of 53-27. The Bobcats fought hard and continued to sink baskets. Playing against Greybull the Bobcats only had one game and were able to utilize its bench and get all players play time.     The Bobcat Wrestlers hosted the Buffalo Bison in a dual last Thursday. The Bison were down wrestlers so in all there were only eight matches and the Bobcats walked away with the win, 44-15.     The Lady Bobcat basketball players traveled to Pinedale to go up against Pinedale, Lyman and Rawlins this past weekend. To start the weekend, the Lady Cats went up against the second ranked Lyman. The Cats played a tough first half and were only down by 6 points.     After a break in action for the holidays, varsity Bobcat wrestlers hit the road to Douglas with eight wrestlers. Wyatt McDermott placed 2nd and Roedy Farrell placed 3rd.     The Bobcat Varsity Boys Basketball team came back from the holiday break to start their weekend with a slow start against Pinedale last week, with a score of zero at the end of the first quarter.     Bobcat boys basketball varsity and junior varsity teams both got wins on Saturday at home. The varsity team had a blow out against Glenrock with a final score of 72-28.
